For those expecting statistics based on our history of posts here, this is only the 4th litter of Goldadors and we do not expect to start making litter comparisons until the next litter of Goldadors. There’s just not enough litter samples to really glean much information from at this time.

All puppies went to nurse on their own immediately after being cleaned and dried. They needed no help to find a teet or latch on to a teet. A few latched on before we were able to clean and dry them. Mama opened the birth sack for every puppy on her own.

No abnormalities have been found (cleft palette, hernias, etc). Additionally, no rear dew claws were present on any of the puppies.

We are very pleased.

We are expecting many of these pups to make life paths toward being real world guide dogs and other service-oriented vocations with long working expectations from approximately 2 years of age until about 10 years of age. Parents have passed full health testing. Libby has already had 80% of her prior puppies graduate to working guide dogs with ALL the other puppies servicing the community in various other assistance programs.

For the next three days, there will be updates on puppy development (mostly weights) and then after, updates on a weekly basis until nine weeks of age with photo and video updates occurring on a weekly basis.

Note: Rocco and Libby are both bred by Coswald’s and currently live active, happy lives with owners other than Coswald’s. This litter is a special litter that is the result of a collaborative effort between multiple parties. Thank you all for your dedication to making this litter happen.
